Air China breed restrictions

The following breeds may be restricted or prohibited on Air China:

• Brachycephalic/snub-nosed breeds (Bulldog, Pug, Boxer, Shih Tzu, Pekingese, Boston Terrier, Mastiff, Chow Chow, Shar-Pei, Lhasa Apso)
• Aggressive breeds (American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, Fila Brasileiro, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, Cane Corso)
• Burmese, Himalayan, Persian, Exotic Shorthair cats

Temperature restrictions

Secondary sources: Embargo if temperature exceeds 85°F (29°C) or below 45°F (7°C). Acclimation certificate for cold down to 20°F (-7°C).

Cargo / hold travel notes

Checked baggage in cargo hold. Max 32 kg including container, food, and water. IATA-compliant containers with ventilation covering at least 16% of four walls. One pet per passenger. Not available on A319/A320/737-8MAX/ARJ21-700 aircraft.

Booking notes

Submit application via Air China website/app at least 2 hours prior. Approval required. Check-in at airport at least 120 minutes before departure. No interline with other airlines. Separate booking per segment for transits. Suspended dogs to US from Feb 2025.
